When considering the numerous ways to marketing your new home business, there certainly are the obvious choices which we will discuss here but there are beneficial advertising opportunities that might not immediately come to mind. Some will naturally be more cost effective than others.

At the outset, it isn't reasonable to expect to advertise yourself on a local billboard. However, it’s most definately smart marketing to say post an advertisement in your local newspaper, or to print flyers, mail postcards, or maybe consider placing an ad in your church bulletin. If you'll use some creative thinking, you might surpise yourself at the places you might come up with to advertise that in many cases cost nothing or close to it.

Posting links to your website on certain online forums while actively participating and contributing to those forums is never a bad internet marketing idea. If you’ll look you can find really good free classified advertising avenues to start getting the word out. Some classifieds are not free, but if not they usually very inexpensive.

Then of course, we don't want to overlook the most valuable advertising of all and that is word-of-mouth. Not only is is the most valuable but certainly the most cost effective, FREE! You can't beat free and valuable not to mention effective. It never hurts to ask your cirle of influence to help you get the word out. If they do, you will see success come at you faster than any other method.

Most forms of marketing other than word of mouth have costs that range from relatively small to some that can be rather expensive. Printing fliers can be fairly low cost, but you must consider your paper and ink cartridge costs. Postcards are a very nice and effective way to advertise, but of course you have the cost of the cards first and then the postage. People love getting postcards though and they are virtually always read. This is a great way to ask your family, friends, and acquintances to help you get the word out. This adds some up front costs to getting your word of mouth going, but again it will be worth it. Posting an ad in a newspaper or other such places, even online as mentioned will cost you for the ad space so it's important to know how much you are willing to spend for various advertising avenues.

Depending on how much you are willing to pay for advertising, your marketing may be limited. However, it is still prudent to try a method or two to determine which one is showing a return. Be prepared to cut your campaign immediately if it appears it is going to cost more than it is going to bring in. One way to determine whether or not one of your methods of marketing is profitable is to survey your customers. When they make their purchase(s), give them a way to respond to the question of how they heard about you. Knowing where your best return is coming from is crucial to your advertising success. Initially, the best strategy is to test. Test each chosen method and increase the ones that show the best return while eliminating those that are just costing you time and money. The money you save from eliminating the non-productive methods can then be redirected to strategies that are working.

It usually takes some time to find the best marketing solution for your home business. Ultimately the best return most often comes from a combination of methods. Consequently, it is important to not limit yourself to a one method for advertising. Constantly be searching for the best solution that brings in the most results at the lowest cost.

Some ask, Should I Even PAY For Advertising At All? The answer is yes and no. Pay AND don’t pay. :-) Paying for quality advertising can have a significant impact on your business, though it does not have to be expensive. On the other hand, there are many ways to get your message out that cost nothing or close to it.

If you are just starting your internet marketing journey and you have concerns of whether it might be too late or you've missed the boat, you should consider this. Many businesses choose to promote their site(s) heavily to internet users directly rather than through the search engines. They buy Internet Ads or conduct Email Campaigns(by legal means of course, NOT BY SPAMMING!) designed to bring visitors to their site(s). Legal email campaigns are done through a business’ own generated mailing list of subscribers that have specifically asked for and verified that they would like to receive email communications from a particular business. 1. Use a hand written letter on your ad copy instead
of typed text. Write your home businesssales letter on a
piece of paper, scan it and publish it on your web page.
Adding this personal touch will always increase your sales.

2. Publish a list of famous and respected customers
who have done business with you. People will think that
if these people do business with you, they can also trust
your online business and purchase your products. It's prudent
to get their permission of those customer ahead of time.

3. Show before and after pictures of the results from using
your products when appropriate. Show the problem(or before)
picture and then beside it, show the picture of the resolution
to the problem when they use your product.

4. Post an article or business review that has been written
about you or your business in your ad copy. This will show
potential customers that your online business is respected and
will increase your credibility.

5. Offer free bonuses in your ad copy, and make sure that you
list the dollar value associated with each bonus. This will help
new customers know they're getting a good deal and it will increase
the value of your product.

6. When affordable and prudent, hire a famous person to endorse
your home business product or service. This person should be well
known to your business' target audience. Include their picture and
quotes about your business on your ad copy.

7. It's always a good idea to include your own picture in your ad
copy. This shows potential customers that you don't "hide" behind
your ad copy thereby increasing their trust in your and your
business. Also, include your contact information with your picture
and a brief statement or quote. People trust online businesses
more that have a real physical address and a phone number.

8. Tell people in your ad copy that you will donate a percentage
of their purchase price to specific charity. This shows them a
real side of you and how you care about your community and world.
They can do their part too by simply buying your product as a
way to donate to the charity.

9. Ask potential customers lots of yes and no questions in your
ad copy. The questions should remind them of the "problem" they
may be trying to solve with your product or service and
consequently make them think about what will happen if they
don't purchase from you.

10. Tell the readers of your ad that they will receive a free
prize if they can find the five words in your ad that are
misspelled or spelled backwards. This is a fun and effective
way to keep them reading your ad longer increasing the chance
of them purchasing from you.

By a show of hands, who wants to go to work day in and day out for an unappreciative boss, be stuck in traffic about two hours per day, and miss many of your children’s milestones? Nobody?!? There is hardly anyone currently employed who does not daydream of working from home, being their own boss, forgetting about the commute, and being available to family and friends whenever possible. For quite a few, this dream has become a reality when they started their own home business. Some, however, have a hard time getting started or NEVER DO because they have a tough time deciding just what to do for a work from home business. If you’re in this boat, you’re not alone. Many others are there and have been there.

While finding your work from home niche doesn’t have to be that hard, it is also not as simple as many try to make it sound. To help you along in this process and to help you wade through much of the hype, here are some things to consider when getting ready to earnestly find something to do as a home business.

What are you capable of doing that perhaps someone else does not wish to do or is not able to do? This could be a great starting point for you to find a niche that you could fill in the marketplace and can turn into a profitable venture for you. Lots of things that take a special ability are good ideas even when others have the ability to do it, many times don’t want to do it and therefore will gladly pay someone else to take difficult or messy tasks off their hands. Skills take a special knack can many times be turned into a home business.

If a special skill does not come to mind readily, why not capitalize on a special talent you may have? Are you a fine artist and can paint portraits of people, places, animals and things that are so lifelike that friends and family are always asking you to do one for them? Are you a great cook? Does your garden look like an oasis in a sea of gardens with dried grass and wilting flowers? Can you explain even the most complex algebraic equations to your children in such a way that they actually understand them? Perhaps you play an instrument and would not mind teaching others to do so as well. If any of these things describe you or you are thinking of something we haven’t discussed here, then you quite possibly could have a talent that is quite marketable whether it’s online, off line or BOTH!

Most of the time, just some solid brainstorming about what you can offer in terms of your talents, abilities, special knowledge, etc, can yield one terrific idea for a home based business.

Maybe you are more inclined to take something that someone else has already established, like a franchise, and make that your vehicle to your dream of working from home. Don’t let the word “franchise” scare you in terms of what it might cost. Many franchises or franchise “type” businesses have minimal to only moderate start up costs and are many times not out of your league financially. There are many franchise “type” businesses in the online business world that have very low start up costs and offer amazing systems that anyone with just a little ambition can plug into. They are out there. They are legitimate work from home business opportunities that many real people are using to make real money from the computers at home. Last but not least, if you have neither a special skill nor confirmed talent, you do not need to give up! The odds are good that you will be able to brainstorm an idea for a home business based on doing those things everyone knows how to do but in many cases simply does not wish to deal with. From party planning to lawn work, lots of ideas exist of those things people would rather pay someone else to do. Why not you?

The simple fact is… the perfect idea for your home based business is out there. You just have to have the desire along with the will power to put the thought process into discovering what your niche could be. As long as your dream to start and run your own home business is alive in you, don’t give up on it and you will discover your home business niche like many other people just like you have done and are living that dream.

It is the goal and purpose of the Work At Home For Dummies business blog to help any and all comers to higher success in their online business ventures. I am always looking to share my experiences and what has succeeded for me as well as for others in order to help those who read here to reach their goals for their home based business.

Actually making money in your home based online business, I know, is everyone's ultimate goal. That is one of the reasons why I have started to share some different examples of proof from those making money online from their home business. Keep watching for more evidence of those making money online to come.

So in the continuing effort of the Work At Home For Dummies business blog to find ways to help you make more money in your home business, I am featuring an article today from David Pineda. He wrote a review of a business book that many online network marketers or multi-level marketing business owners have used successfully to grow their online MLM business.

Today's feature article:

In his book, "Magnetic Sponsoring," Mike Dillard teaches you, the network marketer, how to apply the proper marketing strategies that will turn you into a magnetic sponsor.

Though the "Magnetic Sponsoring" book only prints out 49 pages of content, it does not teach network marketers how to promote their business step by step. It is a guide, not an exact step by step road map. I can compare the Magnetic Sponsoring book to a conversation Neo and Morpheus had concerning a woman known as "The Oracle" in "The Matrix" the movie 1999.

The dialog went like this:

"Neo: So is this the same Oracle that made the prophecy?

Morpheus: Yes. She's very old. She's been with us since the beginning.

Neo: The beginning?

Morpheus: Of the resistance.

Neo: And she knows what, everything?

Morpheus: She would say she knows enough.

Neo: And she's never wrong.

Morpheus: Try not to think of it in terms of right and wrong. She is a guide, Neo. She can help you to find the path.

Neo: She helped you?

Morpheus: Yes.

Neo: What did she tell you?

Morpheus: That I would find the One. I told you I can only show you the door. You have to walk through it."

In a book like this, the information has to be generic and serve as a guide designed to help the network marketer to become a magnetic sponsor, but he/she has to "walk through the door" and apply the information contained therein.

Mike Dillard, once a surgeon recruiter for many hospitals quit his job and became a table waiter in order to pursue his career in network marketing. After discovering the proper use of positioning, and "sellucation" his term for the art of self-selling through education, sponsored 35 personal reps. and grew his organization to over 500 within just months and averaged over $500,000 dollars per year in volume sales.

Today he spends his time and efforts teaching network marketers the proper strategies of marketing and magnetic sponsoring, as well as serving as a marketing consultant to industry leaders.

In "Magnetic Sponsoring," I found out that the strategy of the ABC business model is the most valuable a networker can learn. Mike doesn't just tell you what Part A, Part B, or Part C is. He teaches you how to apply that principle in your MLM business,network marketing business, internet marketing business, or what ever you want to call it in order to keep your business running, and to make sure there is constant cash flow, and growth.

This book truly brings a fresh, high energy, revolutionary, and an effective approach to network marketing. "Sellucation" is intertwined through out the entire course. Educating prospects and applying the franchise business model is essential for network marketers to become magnetic sponsors.

Though it took me some time to fully understand how to apply magnetic sponsoring marketing techniques into my business, I feel that even people with little or no experience in MLM business, network marketing business, or internet marketing business,should have no problems applying the proper marketing strategies found within the book after reading it a few times.

In his newsletter, Mike guarantees that in just ten days, he can turn you into a MLM lead & cash generating wiz! I have to confess that at first, I did not really believe that; I thought he was just another guy creating a lot of hype to make a quick buck. After reading his "Magnetic Sponsoring" book however, I really see that he can actually back up his claim.

One thing I felt Mike could have done to make his book even better, was maybe expanding on the section about franchising a network marketing business with more specific, detailed explanations and/or illustrations as to how exactly this strategy should be applied so that the reader learns to apply this technique a lot faster, and effectively to his/her MLM business, network marketing business, or internet marketing business. But then again, the information is very generic and it applies to any business. As long as is read carefully a few times, there souldn't be any problem applying those strategies.

Based on the claims that Mike makes in his free 10-day boot camp training, and in his "Magnetic Sponsoring" book, I could not think of any questions left unanswered, or any unfulfilled promises.

If you are in MLM business, network marketing business, or internet marketing business, you know that the life blood of any business are leads to generate prospects. In order to accomplish that you have to advertise and/or buy leads. If you are running your business on a shoe string budget, and want to generate prospects, generate cash to fund your advertising, and do NOT want to spend yourself out of business buying expensive leads, then my highest recommendation is this:

On a five star rating, one being the worst and five being the best, I give the "Magnetic Sponsoring" book a four star rating.

Though Mike Dillard has already produced a follow up ebook with 13 special reports on magnetic sponsoring that he gives as a bonus for acquiring the book, I hope he produces yet another more thorough breakdown of proper network marketing techniques book that teaches how to become extremely magnetic in network marketing.

It amazes me sometimes when I consider the number of people who desire to start a home based online business and are yet so resistant to the fact that there may be some upfront costs to doing business.

Consider this...Anytime a person buys a franchise for instance. Let's say it's a McDonald's. One has to know that in this case there is a lot of upfront costs. There are the franchise fees, equipment costs, employee expenses and a lot more of an ongoing nature. Of course, there is the cost of marketing and advertising that must be done to draw in business and to grow the business. It's the same for companies that are expanding by opening new locations and such. It's no different for a small mom & pop type business and certainly a home based online business as well. These upfront expenses are inherent to every new business whether it is offline or online.

Like any other type of business, a home based online business shouldn't jump on any and every advertising or marketing idea that comes along. No matter how great a marketing company might say there advertising solution may be. They may say it's the best option out there and if you'll just do this you can sit back and watch the money roll in. Don't fall prey to such claims. Surely, there are solutions out there, but a home based online business owner must use the same discretion as his offline colleagues. Seek out and go for the most exposure at the most economical cost. Knowing also, that marketing or advertising can often take some time to reap a return.

Free advertising is the desire of every business whether the business is offline or online. And Businesses should seek out and take advantage of as many good free advertising opportunities as they can get their hands on. A good number of which I will direct you to in this article.

As a home based online business owner, you must know and understand that in order to grow your business, it will take some cash outlay in some form. Expect it. Know it. Believe it will. Then use your business acumen or draw on that of others to market effectively. Before you can have a successful home based business, you must first possess 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

===> Intangible 1 <===

First,you must have a strong WHY.

Why MUST you have a successful home business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

===> Intangible 2 <===

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money working from home. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money with your own home based business.

I've always said that "affiliate marketing" (a simple way to make money from home) is the job of the future. In the old days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. In fact, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with a home based business.

That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is that home based business success is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be *IN THE RING* to truly understand and profit from it. In fact, this is a business where you can truly be earning WHILE you're still learning...

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. It's like having children... You're never really ready, but when it happens you adapt and grow and therefore you succeed. This is what I call: "Making the Leap"!

The good news is that the cost of failure with having your own home based business is very small. In the "brick and mortar" world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100.
